Every thought offers a spark that fuels my imagination—something that excites me, grips me, and won’t let go. I never get bored. There’s always more to think about, to consider, to understand, and to invent. At its core, creative writing starts with the kernel of an idea.I’m fascinated by complex characters—shaped by their inner conflicts, contradictions, and emotional depth. I’m drawn to the stories underneath the surface: Why do people hurt each other the way they do? Why do we love, betray, protect, deceive, or trust one another? What drives us, and what breaks us?The human psyche—both that of my characters and my audience—is at the center of my storytelling. I think freely and on a large scale. Limits come later, if at all. I’m both German and American, cowboy and kraut, outside the box and in between the lines. I come from multiple cultural worlds—at home everywhere and nowhere—yet always driven by a deep passion for freedom, dignity, fairness, and for those who are split, silenced, overlooked, or rising from failure.I’m inspired by broken dreams and quiet resilience. I write about underdogs, identity, transformation, injustice, contradiction, and hope—about the new and the old, and about what rises when everything else falls.

Suicide Selfie
Spec-ScriptCaring for her paraplegic mother threatens to suck the life force out of Emma. When the former pro surfer discovers a virtual suicide note from her favorite author, Emma leaves her mom behind and travels to the other end of the world. Being the only one who’s heard his cry for help, it’s on her to convince writer Jackson that life is worth living. What she discovers in Sydney, however, drives her beyond the Australian surf to the edge of existence: Emma has stopped a suicide before and paid for it with her own life.

Premiere 2016A deep cover sleeper is activated to assassinate the man turning the tables on a corrupt society. When the sleeper realizes he's been tapped for a suicide mission he must choose: execute his final order or turn against the world’s most dangerous villain.

...Jan is a German-American screenwriter/producer from Wiesbaden, Germany. He has also worked as a trailer producer, director, visual effects artist, and editor. Jan grew up in a bi-cultural and bilingual family on both sides of the Atlantic. Following his German high school diploma and time in the German army, Jan received his cum laude undergraduate degree from the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College in New York and the James B. Pendleton Center in LA. The debut film Reborn Lost he wrote, directed and produced, premiered in 2016. Following the festival circuit, Jan worked as a full time writer/producer for an entity of Leonine Studios. Since 2021 Jan has been working as a freelance writer.
